Insist upon yourself

Most people nowadays in the car world are too busy scouring the forums for new fads and comments on whether “this or that looks cool”, but they really forget about what building a car from the heart means. A lot of personality is lost in car builds because of this reason; and it gets to the point where the scene starts to get boring and played out. After all, “Insist upon yourself. Be original.” as Ralph Waldo Emerson would say.

Mark Bello’s the kind of down to earth, easygoing guy that you’d come across during a local car meet. He works hard for everything, and deserves the upmost respect. Which brings me to my point; this car is a pure representation of Mark, “Classy”. It’s a 2007 Scion TC. Mark has owned the car since March of that year bought it brand new with 12 Miles on the Odometer. “Throughout the build I’ve Buckled my fenders, messed up my quarter panels, destroyed an axle, and have gone through 3 CV boots.”

Classy goes throughout the car, right down to the wheels. These are SSR Vienna Kreis in a 17×8.5 +10 17×9.5 -2 flavor. A 20mm spacer was added to reduce even more fender clearance. These aren’t the first wheels Mark’s been through. He’s had SSR Professor SP1’s among others. Should I also mention that these aren’t the last wheels either? 😉 The owner chose B+G RS2 Coilovers for his choice of “more low”. So what exactly persuaded Mark to get into the Stance scene?

I accidentally ran into stance, I was more of function than form. I had most of the suspension mods done to the tC then after I bought my old SSR Professor SP1 in SBC it seemed a little flat. I threw on some spacers thinking it’ll look better (not really), sold the professors, and found a deal on some SSR Vienna dishes thinking I could pull it off without much camber, totally failed! I didn’t want to raise it so I decided to camber it, so from then on I’ve just been into the scene.

Outside of the wheel and suspension combo, Mark has done subtle but noticeable changes to this TC. Retrofitted Headlights W/ TSX Clear Lens Projectors, E46 Shrouds, W/ Umnitza Predator Thin Line Angel Eyes are something you may not notice at first but come to appreciate about the car; a Release Series 3.0 Grille has also been added to the front. A Kaminari Flush Mount Spoiler and ANZO LED Tail Lights finish up the rear end.

Behind that rear bumper sits a Greddy Evo2 Axle Back exhaust. And under the hood, you’ll see lots of shiny parts such as the rare ARC Intake and custom Polished Valve Cover. A Weapon-R 4-2-1 Race Header has also been added to give the car a couple more horses.

There are many other modifications done Mark’s TC, as you’ll see below. Overall this is a very well done stylish and elegant car; “Classy”. “My fiancé and friends I thank all of you for the help and support!”
