Platinum Swag

Some readers are going to hate this car, but from the second I saw this car I loved it. I love how the owner, Keith Koester, has broken away from the main path taken by VW owners now a days, but still kept the car clean and beautiful. Now, Keith is no “n00b” to the VW scene, getting involved in mid 2005, when he picked up a bone stock mk3 VR Jetta. This was just the beginning. In December of ’05, Keith joined VWvortex, “the Volkswagen enthusiast website.” This introduced him to so much in the first year of owning this car. In November of 2007, He sold the mk3 Jetta with no idea of what he would be buying next. He looked at all different kinds of cars, until a local member of Southwest Ohio Volkswagen (SWOV) came to him with a 2004.5 GLI. Keith talked to the owner and then the next day, he owned the car. From then on, he has been modifying this car with a subtle style. Loving when people look over the car and don’t notice a majority of the changes. With no specific inspirations, it is no wonder that his car has caught my eye, even in this ever growing VW scene. Finally, Keith made this statement when asked who had helped him with this car.

This car would not be at its current state without the help of a lot of people.  I owe a big thank you to my friend and business partner, Jimmy Liming, for all his support throughout the entire build process.  We were both building our cars this year while trying to get our company, Euroskope Design, off the ground and we hit our fair share of speedbumps.  Mark Bechtold and Ian Simon over at Eurofixx are, without a doubt, some of the best mechanics around and they were able to execute whenever I needed work done.  Allan Savage at Savage Motorsports is a local vendor and a great friend, and when it comes to fast and friendly service, he’s the man.  Along with them, I owe a big thanks to the entire westside crew and my friends over at SWOV and Louisville VW.

Now, I would like to give a big thanks to Patrick McCue for these amazing shots.

Broken away from the path? I don’t think you guys have any clue what you’re writing. Just another VW is what I see.
