Gethin Evans has been in the VW scene now for over 9 years and not many cars can come close to his 1996 Golf VR6. Why? Well, take a minute and appreciate this car in it’s entirety. How many MK3 Golf’s VR6 have you seen on a set of fully polished Gotti’s, on boost, plus Airride? This is the kind of stuff that dreams are made of, and for Gethin, it has been a dream come true.
The entire execution of this build is epic. Besides the beautiful snail and the entire spectrum of power mods sitting inside the hood, the interior also has it’s share of goodies. Seats are Mk4 GTI Recaros re-trimmed in black leather with orange stitching, matching handbreak and gear boot, and a Momo 280mm Team steering wheel has you in control. However, perhaps the most impressive part of the interior is right when you open the hatch, a powdercoated orange show cage and an air tank strut brace that makes the air ride look as if it wasn’t even there.
Back in FE4 we had Indy and his gorgeous MK3 VR6 with custom set of red BBS. Now Gethin with perhaps the most all around build we have ever featured on our site. This car features all the toys one could wish for, from boost to a full interior and air ride… you name it. So you tell us, don’t you agree these folks can teach us a lesson or two on how to properly build a dub that can be both aesthetically attractive and functional? Honestly, when it comes to VW’s, the UK scene has been stepping up their game to another level. These guys are not ballers, they are just hard working enthusiasts who set goals and get things done right, once. Gethin refers to his VR6 as “Home Made” for almost everything done to this car has been achieved through his own hands. In just 5 years it went from a bare shell to one of the sickest MK3′s in Ireland, hope you enjoyed it.
